History

‘Love is ever the beginning of Knowledge as fire is of light.’
-Thomas Carlyle

Way back when, about 1990 or so, a meteorologist serving in the far reaches of Northern British Columbia, was tasked to find a way to generate revenue for the daily forecasts produced by Environment Canada. Thus was born the inspiration for our company.

Working with the technologies of the day he was able to create facsimile, and special interest products that allowed for insertion of advertising discretely within the information matrix.

Over the next 5 years he was able to generate enough revenue from these products to fund one full staff position within his office. And the government gods were pleased – so pleased in fact they decided they could generate this revenue for the entire country’s forecasts from central locations – so they laid off all the field meteorologists.

Fast forward to 1999. A young mother living in rural Ontario begins working in online communites, leveraging her art degree to create stunning images for the online and art world, as well as applied designs in quilting and knitware. At this time she registers the domain indigoblues.ca, primarily as an online art gallery. In her spare time this young mother begins chatting online with other Canadians, at home and abroad, primarily interested in Internet development. By chance she meets a not so young Internet developer / programmer living in New England. Over the next 2 years they strike up a friendship, sharing mutual interests in Internet development, programming, art and literature.

To make a long story short, in 2003, the young lady decides to hop on an airplane and visit this developer, now living on the West Coast of Canada. And the rest they say is history.

Today indigoblues.ca leverages the best of efficient web programming and leading edge, effective, graphic design to create truly unique web experiences for our clients!

Even if they still argue over the weather forecast…
